Nokia Supplies Total DCS 1800 Network to Telivo in Finland

Nokia supplies Telivo with mobile switches, base stations, base station controllers, microwave radios, a network management system and the unique Nokia Artus wireless data solutions for creating value-added mobile data services. The agreement also comprises installation, commissioning and other services for building and maintaining a high quality mobile network.

Telivo is a nationwide operator, already well established in long-distance and international fixed telephony. Telivo has started building coverage and capacity in the largest cities in Finland. The new DCS 1800 services will be commercially available at the end of 1997.

Telivo Oy was established in March 1994. Telia, the Swedish national operator, is the majority shareholder in Telivo (75 %) and the Finnish energy company Imatran Voima holds the minority share (25 %).
