Nokia and Orange Sign GBP 150 Million Frame Agreement for GSM Expansion

The agreement, which includes Nokia's high-capacity mobile switching centres, base station controllers and base stations as part of Orange’s roll-out programme, will help increase coverage, capacity and quality for its subscribers. Orange are keen to enhance their network roll-out and to be at the forefront of the UK market.

“The signing of this contract will enable us to meet the increasing demand for our services in high population areas” explained Mr Colin Tucker, Group Director Engineering and Operations of Orange. “Our aim is to provide a service which satisfies our customer needs to the full and helps to maintain our position as the leading GSM 1800 network supplier in the UK."
