Nokia acquires a 40% stake of AIRCOM International

Established in 1995, AIRCOM provides radio engineering services and designs and develops network planning, information management and performance monitoring software. The company is based in Reigate, U.K. and currently employs more than 50 people. It is an independent company owned by its employees.



Nokia has liaised with AIRCOM International since July 1998, and is developing the Nokia Totem Network Planning System for mobile phone networks in close co-operation with them. "This is a natural continuum to our previous, mutually beneficial co-operation with AIRCOM. Nokia will focus its attention on certain selected products on AIRCOM's portfolio, for instance network planning tools, which best contribute to our system features and product concepts. This development also complements Nokia's network planning and consultancy services to operators", stated Mr. Pekka Oranen, Senior Vice President, Customer Services, Nokia Telecommunications.
