Nokia acquires security software business from TeamWARE Group
The acquisition will strengthen the Nokia solutions for the mobile Internet both for enterprise and service providers through the addition of a team of security experts. Close to 30 employees in Helsinki, Finland and in Kista, Sweden will join Nokia through the acquisition, which is expected to be completed within a month.

The product technologies that convey to Nokia through the acquisition include TeamWARE Intranet Security Server (TWISS), secure client and Smart Card handling technologies. TWISS provides remote and mobile users with a secure connection to corporate Intranets by authenticating and encrypting connections. The solution supports both WAN and LAN access, and going forward will be focussed on the emerging Access Zones, a key part of the Nokia Wireless LAN Solution. Nokia will continue to serve the needs of the existing customers.
Nokia's Wireless LAN Access Zone is a hotspot solution for secure, mobile network access. Nokia Access Zone offers a new business opportunity for IP network operators and service providers, hotels, wireless ISPs, airports, airlines and convention centers. are integrated into an easy-to-manage platform on which ISPs and enterprises can build various service concepts.
